John Pagano is an American vocalist, recording artist, and producer known for his versatile career spanning R&B, pop, and the Great American Songbook. Born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, in a musical Italian-American family, he was heavily influenced by soul, jazz, and classic American songwriting.
Pagano first gained widespread attention in the late 1980s and early 1990s through collaborations with La Toya Jackson and saxophonist George Howard, the latter resulting in the charting R&B hit “Shower You With Love.” He subsequently built his solo career with MCA Records, releasing a self-titled album featuring the charting single “Let’s Get to It.”
A highly trusted stage and studio vocalist, Pagano has worked with legendary artists such as Whitney Houston, Elvis Costello, Garth Brooks, and Barry Mann. Notably, comedian Jerry Seinfeld personally selected him to open his shows in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
The defining chapter of his career is his 20+ year association as the featured male lead vocalist for legendary composer Burt Bacharach’s touring band. This extensive collaboration established Pagano as a premier interpreter and caretaker of Bacharach’s timeless song catalog.
Additionally, Pagano has contributed to major film soundtracks—including Click, Yes Man, and Leap of Faith—and in the late 2000s, he recorded his orchestral album Pure Imagination with a 40-piece orchestra at the historic Capitol Recording Studio A in Hollywood.
